Punk and Indie Gems -- January 31st playlist

-- fugazi - arpeggiator -- instrumental by one of my favorite bands
-- jawbox - cruel swing -- jawbox is grunge/punk. modern rock, except good
-- arcade fire - neighborhood 2 (laika)
-- be your own pet - bicycle bicycle, you are my bicycle -- a really young atlanta-based band does punk. lyrics aren't a strong point but it's a lot of fun to listen to
-- Moe. -- blue jeans pizza
-- the door-keys - dull day
-- dinosaur jr - the lung
-- modest mouse - grey ice water -- i could have played their new song but i didn't. nothing against their new song, i just like this better.
-- antarcticans - a.d. slaveship cross -- post-rock from the new bins. it sounds good but it's not something i would probably listen to recreationally
-- one reason - the song we sing -- screamo-sounding punk band sings about the music industry. the whole album is amazing
-- radiohead - polyethylene -- radiohead released a 7 song set on their ep airbag, with this song on it. i swear i've heard this song played on a church organ before but i'm not sure.
-- flipper - the way of the world -- old no-wave band from california
-- rem - lotus
-- blitzkrieg - blitzkrieg -- one of the songs metallica covered on garage inc.
-- william shatner (feat joe jackson) - common people -- request
